A careful approach to family collections
Inherited collections rarely come in tidy boxes. We're used to receiving mixed bags of rings, chains, brooches, charms, lockets, watch parts and unmarked items — and we take the time to sort, identify and value each piece on its own merits.
Hallmarked pieces are confirmed quickly. Unmarked items are tested electronically or with acid before any valuation is given. Designer marks, antique features and unusual hallmarks are noted in case they add value beyond the metal content.
There is no pressure to sell the entire collection. Many customers keep the most sentimental pieces and only sell the rest. We will tell you clearly if any item is worth more for its design than its scrap weight.
A respectful approach
How we handle inherited collections
Sort by what you can see
Group anything with a hallmark together. Anything without a mark we'll test for you — nothing is dismissed without a fair check.
Keep what matters
Many customers keep the most sentimental pieces and only sell the rest. Tell us, or simply leave items out when you accept.
Flag potentially valuable pieces
Designer marks, antique features and unusual stamps are reviewed for design value as well as metal value — we offer whichever is higher.
Coins and watches found alongside
We value gold coins and gold watches in the same parcel — see the coins and bars pages for more.
Itemised valuation
You receive a per-piece offer with photographs, so the collection can be discussed with family before deciding.
Discreet handling
Items are processed privately at the St Helens headquarters and personal details are never shared.

Will you remove stones from settings?+

Is the service discreet?+
Yes. Packages are handled privately at our headquarters and personal details are never shared.
