How 9ct gold is valued
9ct gold is 37.5% pure gold (375 parts per thousand) alloyed with metals such as copper, silver and zinc. Because it is the most common UK standard, you will often see a small "375" hallmark stamped inside rings, on chain clasps or on the reverse of pendants.
We weigh each 9ct piece individually, confirm the hallmark or test unmarked items, and apply the current gold spot price to its 37.5% gold content. The result is a per-gram figure that you can compare against any other quote.
There is no minimum weight. A single 9ct ring is just as welcome as a kilo of mixed scrap.

UK carat & purity reference
Each carat carries a fixed purity. Per-gram value is weight × purity × the current gold market rate, before refining and handling adjustments.
Multipliers shown are nominal purities. Indicative per-gram values follow the same multipliers when applied to the live 24ct market rate.
Frequently asked questions
Why is 9ct gold worth less per gram than 18ct?+
9ct contains less than half the pure gold of 18ct (37.5% vs 75%), so the metal value per gram is proportionally lower.
Will you accept 9ct items without a hallmark?+
Yes — we'll test them with acid or electronic testing to confirm purity before valuing.
Do you buy 9ct rose and white gold?+
Yes, all colours of 9ct gold are valued the same way as the underlying gold content is identical.
What about 9ct gold-filled or rolled gold?+
Rolled gold and gold-filled items are not solid 9ct and carry only nominal value. We'll always tell you honestly.
