Recognised bars we buy

We buy 999.9 fine gold bars from recognised LBMA-approved refiners including PAMP Suisse, Metalor, Heraeus, Umicore, Valcambi and the Royal Mint, in sizes from 1g credit-card bars up to 1kg.

Bars in original assay packaging typically attract a small premium over loose bars. Where the assay is intact we leave it sealed and photograph the certificate on arrival.

Larger bars are handled in a secure area, weighed on calibrated bullion scales and processed against the live spot market. Your offer reflects the bullion rate at the time of valuation.

Authenticity checks

What we look for on every bar

Recognised refiner, serial number and assay card all help — but bars can still be authenticated without their packaging.
  • Recognised refiner

PAMP Suisse, Metalor, Heraeus, Umicore, Valcambi, Royal Mint and other LBMA-approved refiners.

  • Serial number match

Where the assay card is present we cross-check the serial against the bar.

  • Weight & dimension verification

Calibrated bullion scales and dimensions against the refiner's published spec.

  • Non-destructive metal testing

Electronic and where appropriate XRF testing — bars are returned in the same condition if you decline.

  • Sealed assays kept intact

We don't break the assay to test. Sealed bars are photographed and returned sealed if not accepted.

  • Loose or part-opened bars welcome

Packaging is helpful, not essential — bars can be authenticated on their own.

Frequently asked questions

Do you buy bars without the original assay card?+

Yes — loose bars are tested and weighed individually before valuation.

What's the largest bar you'll buy?+

Up to 1kg standard investment bars. Larger bars can be discussed in advance.

How are bars insured in the post?+

Standard Royal Mail Special Delivery covers up to £2,500. Higher-value bars use additional cover arranged in advance.

When is the offer locked in?+

Your offer reflects the spot price at the point of valuation. Acceptance within the quoted window locks the figure.
